She gave the Minnesota Lynx, who had lost the first five games of the season, a much-needed spark in their 92-82 victory over the defending champion Phoenix Mercury.
She played for almost 16 minutes and appeared to be fully recovered from her knee surgery. She scored eight points on two three-pointers and a play that was so-Candice — she stole a pass intended for Taylor Lilley, dashed to the basket, and laid it up and in before the Mercury could react.
Candice felt her return was everything she could have hoped for.
"It was amazing," she said. "It was everything I was imagining it would be. Just – you know – the plight of an injured player is so up and down and frustrating and then just to play like this is amazing. I felt good."
