Mikaela loves Tasmania

The 2015-16 Australian basketball season ended about a month ago, but Mikaela Ruef ('13) has stayed in Australia, as she did last year, to play for the Launceston Tornadoes in the summer season .

The Tornadoes and Mikaela have begun the season brilliantly. They've won their first four games; she ranks second in the league in rebounds (14.5), averages 19.5 ppg and has made 87% (20-23) of her free throws!

Another Olympics for Jillian?

The New Zealand Tall Ferns will soon be competing for a spot in the 2016 Olympics, and Jillian will join them, as she did in 2008 and 2012.

You may recognize two other Kiwis who have been invited to try out for the team: Penina Davidson (from Cal) and Micaela Cocks (who played for Oregon in 2006-10).

Jennifer Azzi comes out as gay, announces marriage

Jennifer Azzi announced Thursday night that she is married to Blair Hardiek, her female assistant coach at USF.

She made the announcement while introducing Warriors president Rick Welts at the Anti-Defamation League's Torch of Liberty Award ceremony at the Fairmont Hotel.
